This impressive range of apps designed for collaboration includes:

Office Online – create and edit Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Excel documents from a browser.

Sway – a new Office 365 app, teachers can create interactive web-based lessons, assignments, project recaps, newsletters, and more – right from a phone, tablet, or browser. Students can use Sway to create engaging reports, assignments, projects, study materials, and portfolios. Sways are easy to share and look great on screen.

Email & calendars – use business-class email through a rich and familiar Outlook experience you can access from your desktop or from a web browser via Outlook Web App. Get a 50 GB mailbox per user and send attachments up to 150 MB.

Advanced email – use archiving and legal hold capabilities, plus unlimited storage, for compliance needs. And use data loss prevention (DLP) policies and policy tips that educate your users for additional compliance enforcement in email. 

Rights Management Services – enables you to restrict access to documents and email to specific people and to prevent anyone else from viewing or editing them, even if they are sent outside the organisation. 

Unified eDiscovery Centre – you can search across SharePoint, Skype for Business, and Exchange mailboxes. eDiscovery integrates with advanced retention and archiving, enabling in-place legal hold and case-based projects.

Online classes & conferencing – host online classes, parent-teacher conferences and more with audio and video using one-click screen sharing and HD video conferencing.

Instant messaging & Skype connectivity – connect with other Skype for Business users via instant message, voice calls, and video calls, and let people know your availability with your online status. Share presence, IM, and audio calling with Skype users.

OneDrive – OneDrive for Business gives each user 1 TB of personal cloud storage that can be accessed from anywhere. Easily share documents with others inside and outside your organisation and control who can see and edit each file.

Team sites work together on projects with team sites that help keep related documents, notes, tasks, and conversations organised together.

Office 365 Video  easily manage videos within your organisation. Office 365 Video is a school-wide destination for video uploads, sharing and discovery, and smooth playback across devices.

YAMMER – secure, private social networking for your school. Yammer collaboration software helps students and teachers connect with each other, share information, and organise around projects so they can work and learn better together.

Office Mobile – sync email, calendar, and contacts; access SharePoint sites; view and edit Office documents with Office Mobile on Windows Phone, iPhones, and Android phones, and with Office Online using a browser on Windows Phones, iOS, and Android devices. Use the OneNote, OWA and SharePoint Newsfeed apps on most devices.

Office Delve – stay in the know. Search and discover content across Office 365 based on personalised insights. Office Delve is the first experience to be powered by Office Graph, a collection of analysed signals or insights derived from each user’s behaviour and relationships to content, topics, and contacts.

Prior to the move to Office 365 we had problems sharing our school events calendar which has dates crucial to staff. The move to Office 365 has rectified this and staff can access the events via any device. The system has been easily accessible both inside and outside school and the addition of OneDrive with access to Microsoft Office is excellent for students and staff
