At Virtue Technologies, we believe in giving back to the community as much as we believe in empowering education through technology. Each year, we dedicate our fundraising efforts to a chosen charity. For 2024, we proudly supported ANDYSMANCLUB, a national charity committed to promoting men’s mental health through free peer-to-peer support groups. Their mission is to break down the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and provide a safe, welcoming space for those who need it most.
Our journey began with a series of creative, in-house events that brought our team closer together while fundraising for ANDYSMANCLUB’s mission. Early in the year, we hosted a Pancake Day celebration that turned into a creation hit, filling the office with laughter and energy as we decorated pancakes for charity.
As autumn arrived, our Halloween Bake Sale offered a spooky yet sweet way to raise funds, with team members putting on their Halloween costumes for the competition.
Beyond these events, our team’s dedication to more physically demanding challenges truly defined the year. In the spring, a group of employees boldly faced their fears by abseiling 170 feet down the Trafford Palazzo. The thrill and excitement of the experience were matched only by the satisfaction of knowing their bravery contributed to a greater purpose.
Later in the year, a team of Virtue cyclists took on the exhausting 60-mile ride from Manchester to Blackpool, a journey that tested their endurance and highlighted the power of teamwork.
Following on last year’s success, we hosted yet another Bike-a-thon at our head office where TeamVirtue collectively cycled over 150 miles, pushing themselves to the limit and inspiring everyone around with their commitment.
This combination of creative events and physical challenges revealed the true spirit of our team. Each effort was driven not just by the desire to raise funds but by a shared commitment to make a real difference in people’s lives. The energy that emerged during these activities underscored the power of teamwork and reminded us that together, we can overcome any challenge.
As we reflect on the year, we are deeply grateful for the support of our suppliers and partners, whose generosity boosted our impact.
To spread the festive spirit, we ended the year with a Christmas Raffle, turning the joy of giving into tangible support for the cause. Among these efforts, our Wheel of Fortune initiative stood out, drawing eager participants and raising over £250 alone.
To culminate our efforts, representatives from ANDYSMANCLUB visited our office to share stories of their transformative work and accept the proceeds from our fundraising efforts. It was a humbling and rewarding moment that brought home the importance of the cause we supported.
As we look to the future, we’re thrilled to announce that our chosen charity for 2025 will be Daffodils Dreams. This inspiring organisation is dedicated to creating brighter futures for children and families in the Wigan borough, who are living in poverty by providing essentials and opportunities. We’ve already started our journey with a donation to their Christmas Eve Box appeal, ensuring local children experience the magic of the season.
We’re excited to embark on another year of fundraising and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Together, we can make a difference – one event, one mile and one smile at a time.
