Cyber security in schools has moved from being a technical concern to becoming a whole school risk. The digital systems used by schools now support almost every part of education, from teaching and learning to safeguarding, finance, assessment, communications, premises management and parental engagement. When those systems are unavailable or compromised, the impact is no longer inconvenient but can affect the ability of a school to operate safely, protect personal information, meet statutory requirements and maintain teaching and learning.
