General Overview of the Position

To be responsible for the management and successful delivery of Trust IT Projects. The postholder will be leading engagement and the delivery of the Trust’s IT strategy, working collaboratively and in partnership with the Academy Trusts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To actively contribute to and deliver the Trust’s IT Strategy, development plans and deployment in an effective manner, maintaining implementation plans and communicating progress and issues to delivery.
  • Build long lasting relationships and successfully engage with Academy Trusts and wider Virtue team, promoting our values at all times.
  • To ensure that appropriate IT policy and process is in place and adhered to across the Trusts, ensuring that the IT service provides a safe and secure environment for learning.
  • Deliver all projects in line with Virtue’s agreed processes, keeping the project team, Head of Technical Services and customer interface point up to date both written and verbally. Ensuring all Project documentation is always available and up to date.
  • To provide guidance, motivation and inspiration to the onsite IT Team and escalate any issues to the Service desk/ delivery manager where you become aware of issues, when personnel or technical issues arise.
  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered to timescales, raising risks and renegotiating project timelines where required and as soon as you become aware.
  • Be responsible for analysis, evaluation, and detailed reporting to Senior Management in relation to all aspects of projects and strategy.
  • Work with the Service Desk and Service delivery manager to ensure the smooth running of the Central Service desk, raising any local issues as soon as they become apparent.
  • Work within the KPI model to ensure that your deliverables are measurable and your objectives and KPI’s are met and or exceeded.
  • Committed to CPD and keeping up to date with all Virtue’s policies and procedures, sharing knowledge, information and best practices with IT teams where appropriate.
  • Assist with delivery and resolution of tickets in busy times where SLAs are in danger of breaching

Education/Qualifications

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified

Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience

Essential:

  • MS Office skills
  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Active Directory
  • VMWare & Hyper-V Virtualisation
  • Sophos Endpoint
  • Windows 10

Desirable:
